The clearance must be selected according to the forcing on the piston pin but also according to the engine speed! In general, using the example of a crankshaft bearing, we will take a cage with very low clearance for an engine that takes low speeds because it does not require great freedom! However, on a very high speed engine , if the cage has very little play, at very high speed it may enter into a phenomenon of seizing / overheating and may give way in addition to slightly restricting the engine speed.
