Here you will find long stroke crankshafts and long connecting rods for PEUGEOT 103 -The long stroke allows the engine displacement to be increased by offsetting the crankpin. The piston goes lower, and goes higher, as a result, the engine cylinder increases and we approach the so-called "square" engine with the large diameter kits! The basic stroke is 39.1mm, the long strokes on PEUGEOT 103 cannot really exceed 42.1mm because there is very little space in the casing (which will require machining so as not to have a head too thin connecting rod which would break at high speed). -The long connecting rod reduces the forcing on engines where the connecting rod is very short! For example, on the original PEUGEOT 103, the connecting rod is only 76mm in length! With a large diameter piston and / or with a long stroke, this size will create an engine slowdown by forcing and additional stress on the piston! A connecting rod size of 85mm as on the MOTOBECANE AV10 / AV7 / MBK 51 or MINARELLI AM6 engines will therefore be recommended on racing engines even in 50cc. By increasing the size of the connecting rod, this requires a wedge of the same increase, which however reduces the pre-compression in the crankcases, and which also lengthens the distance between intake transfers / lower engine / intake valves. We will therefore be careful not to do anything. Currently, on the market, only the MALOSSI (before 2004) and RRD (since 2019) brands have released long strokes / long connecting rods for PEUGEOT 103 mopeds.
