The famous MALOSSI VARIOTOP variator mounted reverse… certainly one of the best general public variators reserved for competition because not approved on the road. This variator remains identical to the normal model but is mounted as its name suggests backwards, the movable cheek is found on the motor side and the fixed cheek outside like many competition variator. It is intended for normal silk therefore an original crankshaft or original shape (cone identical to the origin).

This inverted technique brings the heavyweight of the bearings closer together, thus greatly reducing the vibration, especially on the fairly heavy variator like this VARIOTOP which weighs 954 grams alone and 997gr with the variator nut. The reverse technique also allows a different forcing on the belt when mounting the variator, moreover, for those who like the racing style and sober approach to real competition engines, they will be delighted. As we mentioned before, this variator weighs 997 grams, so it will allow you a good inertia accompanied by a powerful motor. Its range is 114.5mm, so it is a wide range variator, you will need the appropriate belt model like the malossi mhr competition number 61 9004 , so a long strap, otherwise when the variator is completely closed, it there is a risk of friction against the pulley (plate). We also strongly recommend using an adjustable motor spring and silent blocks in excellent condition.

This variator is a counterweight model (no rollers), it is really well designed and very solid, it has a neat architecture and it is cut / molded in worthy metals, even the mass supports are mounted on silentblocs, lock nut… The cheeks have very good resistance to wear! This drive has proven itself for many years and still continues to sit on many of the most equipped mbk 51. The variotop remains a must of acceleration and top speed especially thanks to its large range which has an excellent angle, but it must be mounted on an engine a minimum efficient and sharp.
