Variator DOPPLER ER2 range 100mm for Peugeot 103 SPX, RCX, MVX & CLIP

Here is the DOPPLER ER2 drive, it is the cheapest complete drive (POLINI for SPX, RCX, MVX & CLIP not complete) on the market. It uses a roller system. This drive was tested by our team and it turned out that it is really high performance!!! The cut of the cheeks is well seen, the rollers provided are well studied (a heavy clearance for torquey engines, a light clearance for powerful engines at high speed).

We will however recommend an adjustable mainspring like the doppler, and a DOPPLER or MALOSSI belt in perfect condition! This variator is all the same fragile, the wear of the cheeks with a belt in poor condition or a badly stalled motor will be rapid! We also had a small problem with a very efficient motor on the column supports which can be removed on certain series, problem solved thanks to a drilling / thread with grub screw by the way / 3mm on each side. As on all variators, there is a small defect which with some tinkering can be resolved very quickly. We will say that on an original or well-equipped engine, this drive if it is well accompanied and mounted will have no problems.

However, this vario will not go very well with an overpowered engine. It offers a really huge acceleration, the climb and decent is well longitudinal, the settings are not very complicated, it's a good variator. We could still have gained in acceleration with a barrel of smaller diameter (25mm like the VARIOTOP MALOSSI) but this variator preserves a big asset, it is very light!!!
